Data Analysis
Our team will work with you to design the study and use different sources of data to inform the topic. In qualitative research data sources may include in-depth interviews, focus groups, and standardized interviews.
We employ several methods to the evaluation of data. Grounded theory is an inductive type of research, based on ("grounded" in) a very close look at the empirical observations a study yields. Thematic analysis involves analyzing patterns of meaning. Conversation analysis is primarily used to analyze spoken conversations. Biographical research is concerned with the reconstruction of life histories, based on biographical narratives and documents. Narrative inquiry studies the narratives that people use to describe their experiences. Depending on the research objectives, our team can work with you to determine the best approaches for creating a research framework, collecting data, and analyzing data.
Our team can provide guidance to your group on the following aspects of data analysis:
Coding: evaluating the interpretative aspects of the coding process
Identifying patterns for thematic analyses
Content analysis to ensure that the data are replicable and valid inference can be made from the data
Our team is experienced in using a number of data analysis software for qualitative research. Whether you are in the design stage or in the midst of your data analysis, we can assist you with evaluating the analytical approaches with the following platforms:
ATLAS.ti
Dedoose
MAXQDA (mixed methods)
